Day 1 at the cabin

It is good to be in a place that is far away from others and peaceful. Our car trip went pretty well. We have been here less than 24 hours and already we have seen a pileated woodpecker, a porcupine (it slowly walked across the road in front of our car), a loon parent with chicks on their back, several deer including little fawns, and a garter snake. And, to top it all, there is a beautiful, big, gentle, and friendly St. Bernard here. Life is good.
